🎉 Event - Pedal and Sail - Where the road meets the open sea

Pedal & Sail is a five-day, four-night small-group road-cycling holiday on Spain’s Costa del Azahar, running from 3 to 7 September 2026. Its defining feature is a private overnight yacht expedition to the protected volcanic islands of the Illes Columbretes, 56 kilometres offshore. Guests spend three nights at Hotel Bellver and one night aboard the yacht with a three-person crew.

The journey begins with bike fitting and an easy coastal ride, followed by a guided mountain ride in Castellón. On the third day, the group cycles to Oropesa harbour, boards the yacht, sails to the islands, and spends the afternoon snorkelling, paddle surfing, and exploring Illa Grossa before dinner on deck and a night at anchor. After a sunrise breakfast and return sail, the trip finishes with a final coastal ride and farewell dinner. Four guided cycling days are included and the intensity is adapted to the group. This is a cycling holiday with a signature sailing expedition—not a sailing course or conventional cruise.

The Journey Day by Day

  1. Arrival & Welcome

Arrive in Benicassim and settle in at Hotel Bellver. A professional bike fitting and equipment check. A loose, easy ride along the coast to shake out the legs from travel. The evening begins with a Vino de Honor reception and dinner at the hotel — a quiet introduction to the group and the week ahead.

  2. The Mountains of CastellĂłn

A full day of guided road cycling through the Desert de les Palmes natural park. Long climbs with sea views, quiet inland roads, and stops at the kind of villages most travellers never reach. The route adapts to the group’s ability — strong riders push, others find their own pace. Return to Benicassim for dinner.

  3. Ride to the Harbour. Sail to the Horizon.

A morning coastal ride brings us to Oropesa harbour, where we board our private yacht and crew. We sail four hours into open water, fifty-six kilometres offshore, to the Illes Columbretes. The afternoon is for snorkelling, paddle surf and a guided visit to the island. Dinner is served on deck as the sun goes down. We sleep at anchor, under the stars.

  4. Sunrise at Sea & Return

Breakfast on the water as the sun rises over the Mediterranean. A guided walk to Illa Grossa and its nineteenth-century lighthouse before we lift anchor and sail back. We arrive by late morning. The afternoon is yours — rest by the pool, wander the old town, do nothing at all. Dinner at the hotel.

  5. Coastal Ride

The final day of cycling along the Costa del Azahar. The route is shaped by what the group wants: a challenging push to finish on, or a gentle recovery pace through the orange groves and along the shore. The evening is the farewell dinner — chef’s choice between two of Hotel Bellver’s signature tasting menus, Menú El Puente or Menú Bosque.

  6. Departure

An optional extra day,you can have a sunrise ride if you want one more. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure transfers to your onward journey. You leave with browner shoulders, a stronger body, and a week of stories the rest of the world won’t quite believe.
