Pedal & Wine — Harvest Edition is a six-day, five-night guided cycling and gastronomy holiday through the wine country of Castellón, from 13 to 18 September 2026. It is designed for beginner to intermediate riders who want an active cultural trip rather than a high-mileage training camp. Across approximately 160 kilometres and 2,000 metres of climbing, guests ride quiet roads between vineyards, orange groves, olive estates, medieval villages, and small family-run bodegas.
The programme combines daily guided riding with vineyard walks, tastings, harvest activities, a paella cooking experience, winery meals, an olive-mill visit, and the creation of a personalised Vino Carlón bottle. A road bike or e-bike is included for five days, together with route briefings, GPS files, snacks, water, a support vehicle, mechanical backup, and Valencia or Castellón airport transfers. Accommodation is split between Casa Pedal & Pause, Villafamés, and Sant Mateu, allowing the journey to move through the region rather than return to one hotel every night. The group is limited to 10 guests, with a minimum of four.

The Harvest Journey, Day by Day
Arrival and Mediterranean Welcome
Arrive via the included Valencia or Castellón airport transfer and check in at Casa Pedal & Pause. The team completes the fitting for your included road bike or e-bike and introduces the routes, support plan, and week ahead. A welcome dinner brings the group together for the first taste of Castellón’s Mediterranean food and wine culture.
Ride, Cook and Lunch in the Vineyard
Ride from the coast through orange groves to Mas de Rander for a vineyard walk and tasting. Instead of simply sitting down to lunch, join a hands-on paella class and prepare the meal with local ingredients and paired wines. After a relaxed family-style lunch, ride back to Casa Pedal & Pause with a recipe card to take home.
Harvest Day in the Interior
Turn inland for a day centred on the harvest. Ride to the selected winery for a cellar experience, tasting, and grilled-meat lunch, then continue to the hilltop village of Villafamés. Take part in grape picking and traditional barefoot treading before dinner and an overnight stay in the village, with a small harvest keepsake from the day.
The Via Augusta to Sant Mateu
Follow sections of the historic Via Augusta north towards Sant Mateu, linking rural roads, a winery visit, and an olive-mill experience. The day concludes with a paired winery dinner and an evening walk through the medieval centre. Stay overnight in Sant Mateu and take home a locally produced olive-oil keepsake.
Your Bottle, Your Story
Ride to the historic Vino CarlĂłn cellars of Besalduch Valls & Bellmunt for a tasting and a closer look at this distinctive local wine tradition. Create a personalised label for your own bottle before returning to Casa Pedal & Pause. The final evening is left for a relaxed Mediterranean celebration with the group.
Coastal Coffee Ride and Departure
Begin with the sixth included breakfast and, if energy and travel times allow, join an optional flat 20-kilometre coffee ride along the coast. Return to Casa Pedal & Pause for check-out before the timed transfer to Valencia or CastellĂłn airport.
